How can we help?

Find answers about automatic face and license plate masking, manual edits, exports, privacy, and Blur Video Pro.

Always review the complete exported video before sharing. Automatic detection can miss or incorrectly track a face, license plate, or other subject. Blur Video does not guarantee complete anonymity or legal compliance.

Getting started

1

Choose a video

Import a video from Photos or Files. Blur Video creates a local project copy and does not modify your original.

2

Review detected subjects

Check every face and plate suggestion. Turn masks on or off and add a manual area for anything the automatic scan missed.

3

Correct the mask

Pause on the affected frame, select the mask, then move or resize it. Your adjustment is saved as a keyframe.

4

Run Privacy Check and export

Resolve remaining warnings, preview the result, choose export options, and save or share the finished video.

Frequently asked questions

Why was a face or license plate not detected?

Detection can be affected by motion blur, low light, distance, occlusion, unusual angles, or a subject that appears only briefly. Use Manual to place a rectangle or ellipse over the missed area, then review the full timeline.

Why was an object incorrectly marked as a face or plate?

Automatic detection may produce false positives. Open the detected subjects list and turn off Hide for any item that should remain visible. Confirm the change in the preview before exporting.

What should I do if a mask drifts away from the subject?
  1. Pause at the first frame where the mask is out of position.
  2. Select the mask in the preview.
  3. Drag or resize it to cover the subject.
  4. Repeat later in the video if the subject changes direction, size, or speed.
Why did my export fail or stop?

Check that your device has enough free storage, keep Blur Video open during export, and make sure the source video is still available. You can also open Settings in Blur Video and choose Clear Temporary Files, then try again.

How do I restore Blur Video Pro?

Open Settings in Blur Video and tap Restore Purchase. Use the same Apple Account that made the original purchase. Blur Video Pro is a lifetime purchase, not a subscription.

Where are my videos and editing data processed?

Video analysis and editing are performed on your device. Source videos, frames, masks, project names, and detection data are not uploaded to us. Apple processes App Store purchase information separately.

How do I remove projects and temporary files?

Delete individual projects from the project list. To remove all project copies, thumbnails, and edits, open Settings and choose Delete All Local Projects. This does not delete your original videos from Photos or Files.

What information should I include in a support request?

Include your Blur Video version, iOS or iPadOS version, device model, what you expected to happen, and the steps that produced the issue. Do not email private or sensitive videos unless we specifically ask for a sample and you have permission to share it.

Still need help?
